Larrakia are the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Darwin and the outer Darwin area including KENBI across the Darwin Harbour.

Who we are

First Nations Radio is Darwin's only Aboriginal radio station located in the heart of Darwin NT CBD, giving the voice to the Larrakia and the wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Australia.

Broadcasting to not only the Darwin region, but over more than 26 local Aboriginal communities through out the Northern Territory and 2,400 Aboriginal communities across Australia.

We specialise in playing a vast array of Indigenous music, covering all genres including country, pop, indie, dance and hip hop.We regularly interview music, sporting stars, community and political leaders. Providing news and insights into whats happening in Darwin and the Northern Territory.

Radio Larrakia commenced broadcasting in 1998 and in 2005 changed direction to achieve recognition and awards for services to Aboriginal community broadcasting, governance and Indigenous employment and training leader.

Mission Statement - to be the 'voice' of Larrakia and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Chairperson Dr Donna Odegaard AM, General Manager Fox McLachlan, the board of First Nations Rations have steered the direction and business to ensure it stays focussed on it's mission, goals and objectives to create greater Indigenous employment in all areas of broadcasting.
